Diamond Club South Suburban Summer Camp is June 19-21

Diamond Club Baseball will be setting up shop for a three-day clinic (June 19-21) at Homestead Elementary School to give area players an opportunity to learn new skills, get quality repetitions, and develop knowledge of the game through their Diamond Club curriculum.

Players ages 6 through 12 may attend, and they will receive three half-days of fundamentals-based training with the Diamond Club staff. Instructors will emphasize teamwork, hustle, attitude, and healthy competition, and all participants will receive verbal assessments of their skills throughout the camp.

Training will include:

• Hitting concepts,
• Fielding mechanics,
• Throwing mechanics, and
• Base running.

Specific areas of work include foundation and balance, rhythm and timing, how to increase bat speed and arm speed, glove work, footwork, and mental preparation.

Each day will conclude with whiffle ball games.

Camp instructors include:

• Jeff Doland: Diamond Club owner and Colorado Rockies associate scout
• Kyle Tinius: Former professional player and Rockies scout team coach
• Diamond Club scout team coaches
• NCAA and NJCAA college players
